The National Hurricane Center reported that, as of 5 a.m., Tropical Storm Bertha was moving in the opposite direction of Bermuda, putting the destination in the clear of any damage. According to the NHC, Bertha was located about 355 miles northeast of Bermuda this morning. Bertha is a strong tropical storm and might still become a hurricane within the next 24 hours, according the NHC. After that, however, upper-level winds and colder ocean temperatures will cause Bertha to gradually weaken.
