Jaipur Rocked by Terrorist Bomb Attack

India’s tourist destination of Jaipur was hit by six explosions today in a coordinated attack that is already being characterized as a terrorist action by Indian officials. Early reports put the death toll at 60, with 150 injured. The explosions occurred throughout the city in crowded areas popular with both locals and tourist, such as markets and temples. Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, it’s suspected that the violence will be attributed to Islamist militants, who have been behind similar incidents in the past in India, including the Mumbai commuter train attack in 2006, which killed 200 people.
