Douglas Kahikina Chang Tapped as General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, Kapalua Bay

Douglas Kahikina Chang has been appointed general manager for The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, Kapalua Bay on the island of Maui. The private and fractional ownership development is scheduled to open at the Kapalua Resort in April 2009. When completed, The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, Kapalua Bay will offer 84 private ownership residences and 62 residences on a 24-acre oceanfront site.

Chang is in charge of overseeing Ritz-Carlton’s day-to-day operations. He has served on the board of directors for the Hawaii Tourism Authority since 2004, including as chairman from July 2006 through June 2008. He is also on the board of directors for the Maui Hotel Association. Chang has worked for nearly three decades in Hawaii’s hospitality industry. Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton, Chang served as general manager of the Hotel-Hana Maui since 2001. Before that, Chang served as hotel manager of the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club.
