Globus Announces New Religious Travel Vacations for 2009

Shortly after Globus' Religious Travel Study revealed that 4.5 million people have traveled internationally on a religious or faith-based vacation, and that an another 9.7 million will travel internationally on religious journeys by 2012, the tour operator is unveiling two new vacations to Israel and Italy in 2009. This comes after three consecutive years of increased bookings on its religious packages. Globus' latest tours include non-religious exploration as well, such as shopping and entertainment, as well as first-class service and amenities.

On a Journey Through the Holy Land, clients spend 10 days touring historical sites of early Christianity, including the Valley of Elah (where David defeated Goliath) and a cruise on the Sea of Galilee. The Vatican, Assisi & Southern Italy tour includes eight-days in Rome, with attendance at a weekly general audience with the Pope, plus visits to the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, the Catacombs, the Holy Stairs, and other landmarks. The journey extends from Rome to places in Assisi, Pompeii and Sorrento, with an optional three-day extension to Medjugorje (Mostar)– a town where the Virgin Mary has purportedly appeared.
